Tracy received her Ph.D. in 2014 in Biology from the University of Washington. She joined the Biology Department at the University of Virginia in 2017. Tracy was promoted to Assistant Professor, Research Track in Biology in 2019 and was appointed to Assistant Professor Tenure Track in Biology in 2022. She is dedicated to the integration of behavioral genomics, comparative neuroanatomy, cellular biology, and electrophysiology to study the evolutionary origins, function, and proximate mechanisms of adult neural degeneration and regeneration.
